On the side of the valve body there is a small weep hole. The weep hole is to insure that the hydrant drains properly to avoid freezing. This valve body is lead free. The total length of the valve body is approximately 4 inches. The outer diameter at the hexed end measures roughly 1 1/2 inches, and the rounded end of the valve body has an outer diameter of approximately 1 1/2 inches.
